Apartments for daily rent have been a hit for quite some time. We have seen everything, from amazingly renovated and decorated spaces to ‘grandma’s apartment’ with all the furniture owners don’t need any more but they don’t want to throw it away. Needless to say we enjoy only the ones from first category, but we are also aware of the fact people sometimes have good intentions but fail with some of the decisions while renovating.
Well, since not all of you are experts in interior design and décor, and recently Petra’s family decided to rent her sister’s (newly renovated) small studio apartment since she decided to move back to Zagreb, it is only fair to give you some tips and tricks we learned along the way and help you make your apartment rent ready!

Okay, you might say we’ve been neglecting this blog. And that might be true. But we were also renovating homes and doing all sorts of things which will soon find their way to this website. Promise.
Most recently – literally a week ago – we designed decorations we’re about to show you. Not because they are something to learn from, but because we think they’re pretty. Isn’t that reason enough?
Now, whether or not you should ever consider DIY wedding decorations (or decorations for any party) is quite obvious: if it’s not overwhelming and if you find it enjoyable, then definitely.

Our clients seem to think that a balcony should be a separate space. Often we hear about how frustrated they are because they have a balcony that is only one meter wide, or even less.
Not much can fit in a room that is only one meter wide, but if your room could be one meter wider, that would be great, right?
That’s exactly how you should treat your outdoor space; balcony, terrace or even backyard.
Outdoor space is connected to a room – a bedroom, a kitchen or a living room – as its extension. We found some great projects to show you what we mean. Continue reading “An outdoor space should be an extension of the interior”
Are you picky? Do you have a long wishlist of things you’ll probably never buy because you’re not sure if they’re good enough? Or are you an impulse buyer?
Either way, if you’re currently trying to figure out how to easily upgrade your home, this post is for you.
At the moment, we are remodelling one living room, and we created numerous collections of furniture for our client. We tend to spend quite a lot of time choosing the perfect piece, so we thought – maybe you’d enjoy a sneak peek?
So, this is not our usual ‘Things we love‘ type of post because, let’s be real, not many people can afford the things we love. It’s a collection of beautiful, budget-friendly side tables, chosen from two of our favourite (web)shops (IKEA and ZARA HOME) – literally a click away from your living room. Or bedroom. Or entryway. Continue reading “Trendy side tables that are just one click away from your home”
How annoying are the stuff we keep in our bathrooms? Don’t you feel like you have over a thousand little items over there, jammed inside a drawer? And there’s no way to organize them either, because every time you reach for something, you knock over everything else. It’s horrible!
So if you’re nodding while reading this, being all sick and tired of your bathroom situation, we challenge you to join us on our 5-day bathroom organization journey. Just think about it, if you begin today, you can start next week as a completely different person – you know, the one that’s not frustrated with the bathroom mess first thing on a Monday morning. The best thing is, five-day-plan is just our suggestion, you can adapt it to your own schedule.
But enough with the intro, let’s just start already! Continue reading “Bathroom organization challenge”
Have we ever told you we don’t live in perfect apartments?
You see, over the years, we both went through every imaginable stage of a home remodel – from quick fixes to entire home transformations. With a few too expensive temporary solutions and a lot of unnecessary purchases that, in the end, made no difference.
So either you live in a rental apartment, or you want to easily, and on a budget, fix up the one you own, stick around. Because we’re about to share with you home improvement ideas we know are good. The ones we tried and would do again. We’ll also include a few don’t-do-it/it-won’t-help remarks.
My friend said the other day: “Nothing is more photogenic than a ‘messy’ bed.”
This is so so soo true. At home, we try to make our bed as neat as possible but on social media, we seem to like those messy ones a bit more. Why is that?
Layers. It is all about layers.
Although as architects we seem to enjoy designing the space, and by that we mean carefully thinking about every little detail, sometimes all you can do in a room is decorate, and by that we mean carefully thinking about casually placing every piece of furniture and decoration in it.
Bedroom, in our opinion, is that kind of room. It is the most private room in the apartment and probably the only one where your guests never walk in – unless invited ;), it is your little oasis and you should style it the way that you’ll feel amazing in it.
